It's not a question of whether you have a writer within, it's how can you set her free.

TUSCANY  October 11 – 17, 2020

We will take care of your every need so you can begin to reconnect with the writer you are and explore ways to become the writer you want to be. What better place to accomplish this than at a writing retreat held in a beautiful villa in Tuscany. Whether you are interested in memoir, fiction or non-fiction, you will tap into your creative flow as we consider plot, dialogue, characterization, imagery, and more. In this safe and nurturing environment you will find there is nothing between your words and the page except unlimited inspiration.

Expand the boundaries of your imagination, master elements of the craft, generate new ideas, break through blocks, and write like you’ve never written before!

Where

Located 45 minutes south of Florence, the Villa Castellare de Sernigi will serve as your base for this magical week in Tuscany. The Corti family has owned this 800-year-old villa since the 1950’s and restored it to include every modern convenience, including air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms in each of it’s nine bedrooms.

When

Sunday, October 11th - Saturday, October 17th, 2020

The retreat runs from Sunday afternoon (October 11th) to Saturday morning (October 17th)

Transportation to and from Florence is included.

What

Following breakfast, each day will begin with a writing session focused on the creative process and the elements of craft.
As a reward for your hard work, you will enjoy a buffet lunch on one of the villa’s terraces.
Your afternoon will either be free to do as you please, relax/write/explore, or professionally guided excursions will be scheduled.
Additional writing sessions will be scheduled on afternoons without excursions.
On one of your free afternoons, Kathryn will schedule a private consultation with you to discuss your work. The retreat also includes a second consultation via phone with Kathryn at some point post retreat.
Before dinner, we will gather in the outdoor living room to enjoy an “aperativo” and admire the sunset.
